Technical Sales Representative

Job Description

Reporting to the Vice President of Sales and Marketing, the Technical Sales Representative will be responsible for prospecting and developing sales in North America.

The ideal candidate will be have a keen interest in learning new technologies, demonstrating and selling leading edge light and colour measurement instrumentation.

This position can work remotely or from our Ottawa, Ontario office.

Required Background

  • Bachelor degree in physics or engineering
  • Minimum 3-5 years of technical sales
  • Independent worker, but also able to collaborate with R&D, marketing
  • Experience in demonstrating and selling complex instrumentation
  • Driven, organized with strong analytical skill set
  • Overnight travel in North America

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive sales objectives and goals
  • Effectively use CRM system (Salesforce) to monitor and manage sales activity and pipeline opportunities
  • Execute and follow the sales process to achieve sales objectives for the complete Westboro Photonics product line of light measurement equipment
  • Deliver sales quota
  • Direct sales opportunities through the RFP process
  • Comfortable with presentations and demonstration of Westboro Photonics equipment in sales or laboratory situations

Inside Sales Representative

Job Description

The Inside Sales Representative is a key member for our sales team. You will be responsible for working collaboratively with the outside sales team. Once trained, the Inside Sales Representative will be able to identify and provide reliable technical solutions to customers and support as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist outside sales team in executing and achieving their territory sales goals
  • Extensive interaction with customers and sales team via phone and email
  • Prepare and process quotations
  • Prospecting for new clients, applications
  • Develop and maintain expert level of product knowledge and applications
  • Learn and convey customer requirements
  • Occasional travel as needed in North America

Key Qualifications

  • Strong desire for a career in sales
  • Technical background such as B. Sc. in Physics / Engineering (required)
  • Excellent command of the English language
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel and experience working with CRM
  • Must be a multi-tasker and extremely well organized
  • Self motivated and independent worker
  • Solid working knowledge of business practices and protocol
